People claim that these are worse than sodas and coffee but that simply isn't true!. Energy drinks have, per serving, 110 - 140 calories mostly from the 26 - 34 grams of sugar!. Soda however, has from 100 - 200 calories per serving mostly from sugar!. Energy drinks have 80 - 84 mg of caffeine per serving and coffee starts at 85 mg!.
Another thing people say is bad about energy drinks is Taurine!. Some go so far as to say that it is Bull Urine or Bull Bile so it is bad!. also false!. Taurine is an essential organic acid that is the building blocks for ALL amino acids!. It is found in the heart, skeletal muscles, nervous system, and bile where it is essential to absorb and use oils and fat soluble nutrients!. The first use of it in drinks was derived from bull bile but that doesn't make it bad!.
The last thing people say about energy drinks is that caffiene will make you crash!. That is also false!. The sugar makes you crash!. Before the sugar rush wears off the caffeine, taurine, B vitamins and other stimulants should take over!. Now even though caffeine does not make you crash it will intensify the crash if you don't drink extra water!. If you're properly hydrated you shouldn't notice a crash from energy drinks at all!.
Energy drinks are suppose to give you energy, not help you loose weight!. Energy does not necessarily mean boosting your metabolism which causes you to burn more calories!. They can but they were not designed to!. Another thing is that caffeine dehydrates!. When we are dehydrated we feel tired and our metabolism goes down!. So we must drink at least an equal part of water to a caffeinated energy drink!. Yes this means that some do not have caffeine in them!.
You can loose weight from reducing what you eat!. But if you make up the calories of food with the energy drink then it won't make any difference at all!. Weight is gained or lost by the total of calories consumed vs total calories burned!. Yes some foods have more than others but it is still total calories consumed that changes weight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Drinks like Red Bull, unless you opt for the sugar-free varieties, are packed with sugar and carbohydrates - meaning that generally, no, they won't help you lose weight!.
However, all energy drinks have caffeine in them - which temporarily boosts your metabolism, sometimes curbs your hunger, and gives you what I call 'artificial energy'!. (Of course, you do experience that infamous 'caffeine crash' a few hours after you drink them!.!.)
If you have an early exam or something of the sort, yes!. But definitely don't make it a habit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're right, they're not healthy!. I was a liquid crack addict(my energy drink name)!. I chose to quit drinking them because I was becoming like a crack addict if I didn't get my "fix"!lol! You might lose some weight but gain it quickly back because all you're doing is losing water weight but keeping the sugar, which your body stores into fat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
