Although your orange drink was orange in color, it was probably colored with a combination of red and yellow dye; these two colors make orange when mixed together!. All food grade colorings are typically just mixtures of primary colors!.
The orange drink probably had more yellow dye than red; so when it was mixed with blue, the mixture of blue and yellow was stronger and produced a light green color!.
It makes perfect sense if you have a basic idea of the color wheel and how beverages are colored with a combination of dyes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
