Does iced tea have the same benefits as water?!

Question: Does iced tea have the same benefits as water!?
Other than the obvious added caffeine, does iced tea have the same benefits as water!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Tea does not have the same benefits as water!. The caffeine takes more water to process then the tea provides so it takes extra water from our bodies!. This dehydrates us!. When dehydrated we become tired and lethargic and can get headaches and other pains!. When we drink water it is a natural energizer and will do away with dehydration headaches!.

Water also helps to send nutrients throughout or bodies, remove waste, flush out toxins, lubricate joints, maintain our body temp, makes our skin look and feel better, and helps our organs to function well!. Tea cannot do any of this as it takes extra water away from us!.

Caffeine also depletes us of B vitamins and calcium!. Water does not!.

You can still drink tea if you like!. It can be refreshing but it is not hydrating us at all!. It definitely does not have the same effects as drinking water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if it is unsweetened tea, then yes it has the same benefits of water in that it keeps you hydrated, but does contain caffeine!. So if you are sensitive to caffeine, water is probalby the better choice!. also sweetened tea usually has lots of sugar or sweeteners in it which are empty calories that aren't needed for someone who is trying to lose weight!. not really but both are great blood thinners!.!. but water has no sugars or many of the same elements as if you steep it in tea!.

tea is great for changing your blood chemistry as in cutting the fats down in your bloodstream!.!. IE: triglycerides and cholesterol!. it also is suppose to help your intestines!.!.!. water can also but!.!. water washes out much better without any residue!.

green tea is as beneficial as good crisp clean water!.!. cept it's tea!.!.!. it has enzymes and sugars in it that water won't!.

still it's better to drink more water than anything else!.!. but a piping hot cup of green tea 3 times a week is a good idea!.

:D

if you're constipated!.!.!. hot green tea will work a wee bit faster than a glass of ice cold water!. still, hydrate properly! water is best!. :D

no one saying tea isn't great!.!.!. real live chinese green tea has amazing effects!.!. one should try it sometime!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People used to think the diuretic effect of caffeine meant you could not count caffeinated beverages toward your hydration "count" for the day, but that has been proven not to be true!. If you're just drinking plain tea, no additives or sweeteners, then yes, it's just as hydrating!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No caffeine is a diuretic it will draw the water out of you and cause you to dehydrate!. Tea also has some trace vitamins and minerals in it so in that way it is better for you!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

as in does it hydrate you as much!?
yes it does!.
caffeine is a diuretic, but there isnt enough and if you are badly in need of hydration (eg!. if u have diarrhoea) iced tea will hydrate u enoughWww@FoodAQ@Com

it is still a liquid yes but tends to have sugar in it which isnt great but if you use real teabags to make it then it contains antioxidants which water doesnt have and they are good for youWww@FoodAQ@Com
