If you open a bottle of water, and then close it, you shouldn't drink it after about a day!. Bacteria and other organisms grow in water (of course)!. Depending on what comes from your mouth into the water, different things can grow in it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it can go off once it's been opened and left on a shelf or in a cupboard it can start to smell and collect residue- that happened to mine when I accidently left it in my garage for 5 months lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

No, water does not rot!.

The plastic does however decompose after a period of time
and bacteria enters the water!.

but water does not decompose!.
