How long can roasted coffee beans be used safely?!

Question: How long can roasted coffee beans be used safely!?
They are more than a few months old but have been refrigerated/frozen the entire time!. It's not a small quantity, it's several pounds of different flavors; otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to toss them out!.

Answers:
If you froze them, pretty much forever!.

If you refrigerated them about a year!.

They will still be safe to drink if you just kept them at room temperature, though the flavour will deteriorate somewhat!.

If you ground them and kept them at room temperature they can go mouldy after about a month!. The coffee will taste foul, but the hot water will probably reduve any food poisoning danger to nearly nothing!.

By the way, if you grind coffee beans, you should keep them cool and sealed, but NEVER frozen, as the flavouring oils will leach out of the broken beans by freeze distillation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Having managed for two large corporate companies that sell coffee made straight in-store from fresh beans I know a little bit about this and I can tell you that it is completely safe to consume it now particularly if its been refrigerated or frozen!. Perhaps If they had been left out in a warm even humid place then they wouldn't as that's the ideal situation for bacteria to grow, but they haven't!. The taste quality will not be quite as good as if it was fresh as is the same with almost all foods but it will be safe to drink!.

If you've kept them in the freezer they'll last indefinitely however they may eventually start to lose their taste and/on be freezer burnt!. It would just depend!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are fine if they've been refrigerated or frozen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They'll be fine to use, but might have lost a little of the flavor in the freezer!. Let them sit at room temp before you use themWww@FoodAQ@Com

They are safe!.!.!.They just won't taste as good as fresh!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
