Yes and no, its sorta getting the scales right!. Caffeine can speed up the metabolic rate its very good at aiding the digestive system and for absorbing unneeded fat through exercise and it is a good energy booster, but it has a downside!. Burn fat too fast you become lethargic and very sore, lactic acid builds up your joints and muscles ache!. If your a coffee drinker by habit one way to know if its an aide or a hindrance is on your way to the gym get a strong black coffee, if the first sip hits the tip of your tongue and you enjoy it then you don't need the coffee to work out!. Just chuck it! as far as your brains concerned you've already had the coffee, your body will release natural endorphines and fat cells will process as much carbs as they can!. At the end of a one hour workout you should be starving, if your not see a health specialist as i'm only a labourer i need 3000 calories per shift to do the work that needs done!. I eat shi't loads of pasta but 2 hours later i'm still starving but the coffee does give me that much needed "oomph!"Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on the person!. In some people, it gives them more energy so they are more active and burn more calories!. In others, it creates sharp hunger pangs so they eat more!.
