Irn Bru, the REAL national drink of Scotland, has a different ingredient in Canada. What is it?!

Question: Irn Bru, the REAL national drink of Scotland, has a different ingredient in Canada!. What is it!?
This one's been bothering me for a while!. I know you can get Barrs Irn Bru in Canada and the US!. But there's an ingredient in the original Scottish variety which is illegal in the US and Canada hence it isn't in the drink sold there!.
The ingredient in question is a colouring, E124, otherwise known as Sunset Yellow!. This is a banned substance across the pond and I'd like to know what ingredient replaces it in the Irn Bru sold over there!.

I suspect, if there's any answers to this, it'll be a Scots Canadian who comes up with it :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

The Bru has recently come on stream here in my local supermarket in Australia!. Havent had a bad enough heid on a Sunday to buy it yet, but it looks the right colour!. I'll look into it tomorrow!. I suspect it may still have something to do wi girrders!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe, you should go on google, type in canadian irn bru, find out the ingredients, then type in scottish irn bru, find out the ingredients!. Compare, and tah-dahhh!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I gather that in Newfoundland they add seal p**s!. Doesn't affect the taste much :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I live next door to the IRN BRU factory in Cumbernauld and will present any questions to them!.
Send it in writing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sorry to 'steal' 2 points as i don't know the answer but want to comment on the question!. Is it not a wee bit worrying that the Canadian authorities have said 'yes we will have this drink BUT we won't allow this particular ingredient in it' why is it banned!? what does it do!? Why is it okay for Scots to drink but not Canadians and Americans!?

Edit ; Just did a little search on google there, and i have come across this additive before, In France it's called Ponceau 4R it was an additive in a strawberry yoghurt that my son had an allergic reaction to so i have a quick read on the back of the labels now to try and avoid it in future!. So thanks for this question beastie as i have just found out some interesting information on another colour additive that could be causing problems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
