The kinds of bottle water that is over processed tastes like medicine to me, some less sterile tastes somewhat better to me!.
As far as tap water, when it comes from a source that is not really clean or clear of many naturally occurring minerals or comes from a somewhat polluted source and must be purified extensively, the taste can be horrid!. In other places where the water is of a more pure source or has less minerals, it can taste better than bottled!.

We get a quarterly statement saying what is in the water and after a long period of time one can get cancer& kidney diseases!. We have a 5 gallon Nikken water filter system and Phoenix drinks it too( I told you he's a spoiled dog)But its better for everyone and I use it to cook and make coffee!. Taste is SOOO Much better!.!. Alittle on the expensive side but well worth it!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Tap water (if unfiltered) has amounts of sodium and other things in it, and runs through them large rusty pipes!.
On the other hand, bottled water is filtered and in most cases, purified, therefore tasting better and safer to drink!.

It certainly does where I live!! In S!. Spain in summer it depends on the day what tap water smells like, and what colour it is!. It can be tan, yellowish or pale green!.
However the prices charged for "mineral" water (which is usually just filtered and bottled tap water) are exorbitant!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
