Too Much Water...Bad for you?!


Question: Too Much Water!.!.!.Bad for you!?
I drink about 7-15 bottles of water a day!. I get very thirsty!. No I do not have a dehydration problem or arent diabetic!. I can drink two whole bottels in one chug!. I am 13 if that helps!.!.!.!.!.

One of my friends said that it was bad for my kidneys and that it could kill them!?!?!? Is that true!? I personally dont believe it because it should CLEANSE them instead!.

Can anyone help me!? 10 points PROMISED to best answer!. Please help and give me the pros and cons to drinking this much water!. THANKS!!! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well that is more than you really need!. but it won't hurt you or kill your kidneys!. The only way you can have too much and it hurt you is if you drink a large amount of water very quickly!.

For proper hydration and health we need 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight and 8 more ounces for every 20 minutes of exercise/activity we do!. With hot/dry days and climates we need even more!. We can still drink more than that and it will help to flush out our systems!. It is what happens when we fast and we should all fast at least once a year!.

But You might want to double check with your doctor if you need to have that much water all of the time!. While it is not bad to drink that much from time to time if you need to do it all of the time it could be an indication of something not being right!. If your doctors says you are fine then don't worry about the amount of water you are consuming!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it's true!. You can get water poisoning from drinking too much water!. It's not that the water itself is bad, it's the amount of it!. It's too much for the body to process!. There's such a thing as too much of a good thing, ya know!.

This reminds me of news story I heard once on the radio about a mom who died in a water drinking contest when trying to when a Wii for her kids!. And she lost!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

As long as you're not constantly drinking water all day long, you'll be fine!. And you're right, water does clean you out, and as long as you go to the bathroom, you'll be fine!.

I heard of someone who was in a contest to see how long they could drink water without going to the bathroom and they died!. Not going to the bathroom causes you to drown yourself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Water is REALLY, REALLY good for you!. It clears out all the toxins in your system!. It gives you clear skin, healthy hair and nails, not to mention it keeps all of your insides running properly!.!.!.

BUT, that much water a day, especially for a 13 year old, is actually really dangerous!.

There was this thing at this local radio station!. It was called, Hold your WEE for a WII! Basically, these people would drink a ton of water and whoever lasted the longest would get a Nintendo Wii!.

One of the contestants actually died for consuming so much water!.
It actually wasn't that much either!. It wasn't even 2 whole gallons!.

It's called Water Intoxication!.

So, my suggestion to you is go to your doctor!. Your thyroid might be over working itself!. It's very common in your age actually!. So talk with your mom or dad, and have them take you!.

if you could handle it and you go pee ever so often then no its not bad for you!. but if you don't pee too often and drink that much water your cells could explode and you could die!.(not kidding-happened to the mom who wanted to win a wii at some radio station/ google it if you want) anyway!. its healthy to drink water!.!.!!.?Www@FoodAQ@Com

too much water may result to overhydration!.!.if intake of water exceeds the maximum rate of unrine flow, the cells and tissues become water-logged and diluted!. this may cause anorexia, vomiting, and if it occurs in the brain, it may result in convulsion, coma and even deathWww@FoodAQ@Com

Water is the healthier drink you can have!. It cleans everything in your body,which help you to stay healthy!. You do need to eat healthy too!.

2 bottles of water in one chug seems to be a bit much at once, but you're supposed to drink about 10 bottles of water a day!. Don't stress over it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
