Does tea count towards water intake?!

Question: Does tea count towards water intake!?
I drink a lot of unsweetened iced tea!. Does this count toward the recommended 64 oz of water since it is mostly water anyway!? also, does anyone know if there are any health benefits of this kind of tea!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Many kinds of tea are caffeinated and caffeine is a diuretic!. That means that it helps to eliminate water from your body, thus dehydrating you!.

Nothing else counts as water; water counts as water!. Think of it like putting oil in your car!. Would it be the same if you put in a mixture of oil and something else!? It would probably work alright but your performance would not be as good!. Your kidneys and liver need water to flush out toxins!. If you're drinking water with something else in it, that's just something else for them to filter out!.

Tea may indeed have health benefits!. So does wine!. I would not recommend drinking wine for your daily water requirement either!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Decaffeinated tea such as green or red tea, as long as it is below 15 calories can be counted as water!. I drink decaffeinated black tea without sugar doctor said it was fine and can be used as part of my 64 oz, but I add a few more ounces anyway just to cover my basis!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Anything that contains water will count!. There was just a TV pgm on Discovery Health that says most people counting up water forget that their food also counts and can be a noticeable contribution toward the amount you need to drink each day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

even though tea is excellent for you it is a diaretic so you will probably pee more, and loose fluid due to that, so throw in a few glasses of water on top of that and you will be fineWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it does count toward your water intake!. However, it has been proven that people do not actually need 8 glasses of water a day!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, apparently!. It was thought that caffeinated drinks were dehydrating, but recent studies seem to indicate that's not true!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
