Ideas for things to do at night for alcoholic who's going sober?!

Question: Ideas for things to do at night for alcoholic who's going sober!?
My boyfriend is a major alcoholic, he's decided to go sober!. Does anyone have any ideas of this we can do at night that don't involve getting drunk!? He thinks that now that he's giving up drinking he has to stay at home and do nothing!. Doesn't exactly sound like a great attitude to me if he's really gonna try and go sober!. We like to go out, we're social people and like to stay busy!. Any ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a former alcoholic (sober 10 years) and I just want to thank you for reminding me that I used to think exactly like your boyfriend does, because all my life, all I really did was drink, and I didn't know what else there was to do!

The truth is that not drinking opens up a whole new world of possibilities!. Your boyfriend can now take a vacation anywhere in the world he wants!.!.!.he no longer has to be concerned with whether or not alcohol is available!. He can go to the movies or read a book!.!.!.and be able to remember the plot the next day!. He can go to the gym and work out!. He can get involved in things that interest him!.!.!.charities, politics, sports, hobbies, whatever!.

What he will find, if he hangs in there (the first few months are usually really hard) is that life is much more fun and interesting sober than it was when he was drunk!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
