Hey ther pal!.

Here are some reasons why CocaCola ditched the glass bottles!.

-As you may know, Coke is the second most biggest company in food and drinks in the world, next to that of Nestle!. And with biggest company's comes demand; so there was way more popularity in the coke drink and also on coke ranges!. Glass bottles took more time to make and were more heavier in size and other things of that nature so Coke made a decision to move to Plastic bottles!. As you may know, Capitalism focuses much on mass production so it is obvious that Coke will go for the more efficient type of Coke bottle, which is the Plastic!.Plastic was lighter and less heavier so it was much more easier to have more production with packages such as these!.

However, there are still some countries around the world that still have coke Glass bottles being sold in their supermarkets and mini stores!. Depending on the reason, coke usually have 'comebacks' if it is their birthday for no occasion at all, they tend to bring a limited time offer type of thing so they bring in the glass bottles temporarily!. As you may know, the glass botlles connotes the olden days so people in the olden days may benefit of this!. And of course like you said, It keeps the coke colder!.

There are also countries around the world (such as the Islands of Polynesia, carribean and even africa) still sell alot of coke bottles!. As you may know, less trade from foreign countries are made with these countries because of their marginal economies!. So what these countries do is buy concentrated flavours from coke and fill them in these recycled bottles when they are done!. This was so when i was in Samoa, an isolated Island in the pacific; they used glass bottles for their drinks!. And it is PERFECT for countries like them in Polynesia because it is so hot there and their drinks come in 2!.25 litre glass bottles for like one dollar!.!.HAHA

hope this helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

you can still buy them in glass bottles although they are more expensive!. i do agree, they do taste better!

they changed for a couple of reasons, cost being the biggest!. the threat of possible legal action because of the glass bottles and someone getting hurt was the other!.

they have started making beer in plastic bottles now, btw!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can find the little ones in some grocery stores near the ibc rootbeer in six packs!. In massive production for a holiday thing yes but they wont for they broke and its the liter bottle and recycling!. Oh and I agree for the beer ice cold tastes better but look at the price diff!. I do not like the taste of aluminum at all!. I pore onto ice if bought one whenever poss!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Coke is still available in glass bottles, I just saw it at the store last week!. It's not as common to find as plastic bottled Coke or canned Coke, because it's heavier and more prone to breakage so it isn't cost effective for the company!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Keep your eyes open around Christmas and other holidays!. The company will sometimes release special edition glass bottles!. I have one from Christmas 2007!. They do not have the cork but it is still neat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It was changed because it was a lot cheaper to use plastic bottles!. You can still buy the glass bottles in the UK but they are far and few between!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its kinda on high budget for glass rather than plastics plus glass are fragile therefore the company will lose money by those breakage of bottles wutWww@FoodAQ@Com

it was cheaper to use plastic!.!.!.
