What is the FIZ in pop?!

Question: What is the FIZ in pop!?
I notice that the fiz, for example, in a bottle of Vernors seems to fill up most of the cup!. Does the fiz actually take up some of the pop that is drinkable, or is it a natural reaction that leaves some of the pop!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
CO2!. Its added in to the pop!. It doesn't absorb pop!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
