Where can I get decent loose tea from?!

Question: Where can I get decent loose tea from!?
I love tea and would love to start blending my own!. Can anyone recommend any good websites or shops in the Northwest England that I can go to and that are reasonably priced!?
Does anyone blend their own tea and is able to offer advice!?

Thanks in advance!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
When there used to be local tea blending companies throughout the UK, the tea was blended to suit the water in that area!. As the dreaded supermarket teabag drives the small tea blenders to the wall, that experience and expertise is being lost!. Northwest England is quite a large area, with loads of water differences,so it is difficult to be definitive about blends!.
Taylor's of Harrogate is the closest of the well known tea packers to you that I can think of,but if you ask in your local deli!. they may know of somebody nearer!. You need to find a company that packs straight teas (not blended) such as Assam,Darjeeling, Lapsang Souchong,Orange Pekoe, etc!. and develop a blend, based on a background tea that you already like, that suits the water in your area and your palate!.
We use Bells tea in our area!.(packed in Belfast) Have a look at their website at www!.sdbellsteacoffee!.com They seem to do mailorder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Twinings do a nice range of loose teas that you can buy in Sainsburys and in Tescos, but try their website as I'm sure that you can order on line http://www!.twinings!.co!.ukWww@FoodAQ@Com

buy an asortment of tbags and rip them, pour the leaves out and mix togetherWww@FoodAQ@Com

Whittards of Chelsea - either the shop or online!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
