Have you tasted jamaican blue mountain coffee?!

Question: Have you tasted jamaican blue mountain coffee!?
I'm intrigued by this brand that is 4 times more expensive than any other coffee bean!.
Apparently Jamaican Blue Mountain is the measure by which all other coffees are compared!.
I've never tried it but am interested to hear from anyone that has and what was your opinion of it!.!.!.!. thanksWww@FoodAQ@Com

I have had it, and it's not bad but for me the most important thing is the roasting process!. A good bean well roasted is better than a great bean of average roast quality!.

It certainly is not worth 4 times the price of other good coffees!. I would put Kona into the same category as JBM (also not worth the premium)

also keep in mind that there are 2 (two) different kinds of coffee!. Arabica and Robusto!. Arabica is the better bean and most of the better coffees are Arabica beans!. Jamaican Blue and Kona are both Arabica!. Some supermarket brands are Robusto beans and I find it has a much more bitter taste!.
The two most popular coffees in the US are Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks!. Both use arabica beans!.

So, the only difference between JBM and Columbian or Java coffee beans is the soil it is grown in!. The plant is the sameWww@FoodAQ@Com

I am a former chef and actually worked at a resort in Jamaica back in the 1980's and we served it, and your right because of the growing area, climate and hand picked processing it is highly prized for its flavour and aroma, I still buy it now for a treat, I am back in Canada were I am from and get it here in our West Indian store here in Toronto ON!.

If you do happen to get a hold of some make sure it is whole bean and grind it yourself for the freshest pot, and use filtered water and I like mine stronger, so you make that call, it is best enjoys with a bit of cream and sugar or not, I would say of all the coffee's I have from around the world, even the rare Sumatran one they get from civet cats droppings, and it is prized by both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, I still would side with the Blue Mountain any time, for sure!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. I do not know where your shopping but it not 4 times more expensive then any other coffee bean!. It is usually priced the same as many premium coffees !. AT most I have seen it priced around a 1!.00 more for 5 oz!. also I have no idea where you get the idea it is the measure of all other coffees!. I enjoy it!. But no more so then Hawaian and many other types!. It is like calling a certain scotch, bourbon or cogar type the measure!. It depends on individual tastes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I bought this as a treat from Whittards last Christmas!.

I think I must have an uneducated palate because I really didn't rate it!. I suppose my expectations were too high, but when you are paying a tenner for a minuscule amount I expect it to deliver!!!

It was pleasant!.!.!.just not!.!.!.wow!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've had it a couple of times this year!. It's great coffee, but then I can get coffee beans just as good for a heck of a lot less!.
