If bottled water been in the mountains for hundreds of years why do they have a expiry date?!

Water which is not flowing can go stagnant!. Bacteria and even small worms can appear!.

The plastic in the bottle leaks toxins into the water over time!. You're not supposed to refill them for the same reason!.
However, I would guess the amounts of toxins are so minimal, it's not worth worrying about!.
