Why does this happen only 2 me?!

Question: Why does this happen only 2 me!?
i hate drinking pop which is flat, so i always make sure the lid is on tight!. After i finish drinking i put the lid back on and i turn it about a million times just to make sure its on tight!. So the next time i go for a drink id open it and have some and it would be flat!. But with my sister and brother, they dont even put the lid on tight!. They dont even turn it once just abit but when they go for a drink, its still fizzy :S
so iv started doing what they do and not turn the lid at all only a tiny bit and my drink stays fizzy!. why is this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
soda is a carbonated drink, meaning co2 is being dissolved in the water!. this dissolved co2 is responsible for the fizz when you open and drink a pop!. The rate at which co2 dissolves in water depends on the temperature of the water and the pressure of water where it's contained, the colder it is, the more co2 it dissolves!. BUT, if you shake/turn your bottle, the co2/water bond tends to break up and separate resulting on a flat pop drink specially on a half empty bottle where the co2 has a lot of head space to occupy to maintain it's standing pressure!. This doesn't happen though to a full bottle coz of the small head space, only Small amount of co2 would separate to maintain it's standing pressure!.
So if you think you can't finish your pop, use a glass and pour down your pop slowly and gently taking care not to create to many bubbles, close the lid tightly and place it in the coldest part of your refrigerator!. Do not shake or turn this time ok :)!.!.!. and it would be best to place it on an upright position!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's got something to do with the O2 molecules in the air reacting with the sodium in said pop!. you see, in order to be fizzy the two must react, and this sets off the chemical reaction and makes the pop all fizzy!. but when you tighten the cap on completely you're not letting any of the O2 do it's thing!. but when the lid is on loose, the O2 is allowed to freely move, but not leave the bottle!. it's kind of confusing, but most of life and chemistry is!. and this is no exceptionWww@FoodAQ@Com

It could be that you're shaking it too much and stirring up the 'fizzies' when you excessively tighten the lid!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

yep that sounds about right!.Kid don't shake the boodle you'll let all the fizzy out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
