Are energy drinks dangerous...for real?!

Question: Are energy drinks dangerous!.!.!.for real!?
Seriously, are they!? I don't think they are if you use them correctly!. Given what we know about caffeine and such, clearly you should always drink water before and after drinking an energy drink to keep yourself hydrated!. You shouldn't drink more than one or two a day!. You shouldn't mix it with medicine or other drinks!. You shouldn't substitute it as hydration during moments of high activity!.

These are all obvious things people should do when drinking this stuff!. I have been drinking energy drinks since I've been going to college!. I only drink two or three a week and keep them spaced out about a day apart!. There have been times where I've gotten dizzy (mostly because I was moving around a lot and didn't drink any water) or "addicted" (mainly because I love how they taste), but overall, I've had no negative health affects!.

So really, what's the basis behind this "energy drinks are dangerous" thing!? I'm not one to easily give into hype, so I do my research and have yet to find any conclusive evidence that they're truly unhealthy!. Personally, I feel like anything and everything in this world has the potential to be dangerous if we don't use it right; so what's the big deal!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
They're not going to kill you immediately, but they will help wreck your health in the long run!. I'd be more concerned about the sugar than anything else!. Refined sugar (and other simple carbs, like bleached flour) are at the root of a whole host of health problems among Westerners--obesity, diabetes, certain cancers!.!.!.the list goes on!

At least switch to the sugar-free drinks--though many argue this isn't much better, as non-sugar sweeteners have been implicated in many health problems as well!.

Your best bet: DRINK COFFEE! Add a bit of milk and sugar if you must!. Black coffee, in moderation, is close to zero-calorie and, according to the best evidence, is not harmful to your health!. There may even be some health benefits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've heard a supposed myth that says if you drink to much, or do excessive amounts of physical activity that it can explode your heart by over-working it!. I'm not sure if exactly that is true, but I'm sure you could damage your heart by making it work too hard!.

Then again, I'm not sure if any of it is true, but I've not heard of anything else along the endangering health lines!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
