The staple isn't enough metal to do any damage, but your tea will taste better if you let it steep after you take it out, because over-heating the tea leaf and/or herbs can draw out bitter-tasting flavors!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You should just microwave the water, and then let the tea bag soak in it for a couple minutes!. When you make tea you should never boil the tea bags just add them to water after it's boiling and taken off the heat or out of the microwave!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
