The main problem with these kind of drinks is that they are full of sugar - which as anyone can tell you seriously erodes your teeth and also has a severe impact on your health!. You can easily see for yourself how bad these drinks are - if you put a grimy copper penny in a glass of coke and leave it for a few days it will come out noticeably cleaner, this is 'cause the drink has worn it away!.
They are also really addictive; partly because of the sugar, but mostly because of their caffeine content!.
Given you're questioning drinking these things I think it's clear you are aware they are bad for you!. The question of how to stop drinking them is hard to answer!. I cut out fizzy drinks because I knew they were bad for me - the suggestion to try switching to something like squash is a good one, it still has sugar in it, but it cuts out the caffeine and the gas, which is definitely a step forward!
It's like any kind of addiction though - you need to be aware of your craving, and actively choose to have something else instead!. This could be a drink of squash, or perhaps some chewing gum, or fruit or something instead!?
You might also want to work out a reward system - set yourself targets; go 1 week without having any fizzy drinks, and in return treat yourself to something you really like!. This can be food or maybe a trip to the cinema etc!. Anything, as long as it's not a fizzy drink; that wouldn't be a reward, it would be a step back!
If you keep doing this eventually you'll be able to stop setting targets and it should just be automatic that you don't drink these things!.
It is hard, but it is also doable, and eventually you'll get to the point where you wonder why you ever thought you couldn't do without these drinks!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Drinking overpriced fizzy water with an additive and a huge marketing budget (which you pay for in the overpricing!!!!) is just typical of the shallow celebrity obsessed world created to extract money from you from big US multinationals!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I drink @ 1 litre of Cola every day too!. Only diet stuff though!.
I've been trying the caffeen free stuff also, but its not so nice!. I think all fizzy drinks are acidic and will erode the enamel from your teeth eventually (check with your dentist), although I haven't had any detrimental effects as yet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your teeth will suffer from all the acid and the sugar will indeed increase your risk of diabetes!. Could you cope with at least switching to sugar free versions!? Try to replace at least one glass of the fizzy stuff with a glass of water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The stuff is not good for you at all, drink lots of water and save yourself, do it now before its to late I would suggest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
