Cranberry flavored juice or real cranberry juice?!


Question: Cranberry flavored juice or real cranberry juice!?
I find real cranberry juice to be way too tart to drink so I buy cranberry flavored juice!. I was instructed by the doctor to drink cranberry juice so does it matter that I drink the flavored one!? It still has cranberry in it it's just mixed with other juices!.

When I was having trouble with UTIs my doc told me to drink 4oz of straight cranberry juice per day!. He also advised that since that was wayyyyyyy too tart to be palatable, I might want to cut it in half with water, or diet lemon-lime soda!. I have also mixed it with Crystal Lite!. I think there are some cranberry juice cocktails out there that have a good percentage of real cranberry juice, but you would have to check the labels carefully!. also you know best how much of the fructose/sugar of other juices is ok for you (me!? I have to be careful about sugar)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Real cranberry juice is better for you!. The cranberry content is higher; the drink is just too watered down and full of additives!.
Buy real and add a bit of (raw) sugar or honey to it to make it palatable for you!. But try to get accustomed to the taste without too much, if any, sweetening!.
There's a cranberry-like concentrated syrup ('lingonberry') available at IKEA which is heavily sweetened!. Sometimes I add a Tablespoon or two of that to the cranberry juice to take the edge off the tartness!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it matters cranberry flavored juice cannot cleanse your body as well as real cranberry juice!. My Dad's doctors used real cranberry juice to cleanse his blood and kidneys!. If your doctor prescribed it for you, just get used to puckering up after you drink it!. Ocean spray and Kroger have sweetened versions of real cranberry that taste pretty good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you were instructed to drink cranberry juice because of UTI's then you have to drink the real thing! It's whats in the cranberries that help you, not the flavour!Www@FoodAQ@Com
