Mold on steel coffee filter?!

Question: Mold on steel coffee filter?
I purchased an hourglass cold brew coffee maker and neglected to rinse out the filter for a couple of weeks. The filter is a steel basket. When I did take it out, I thought I saw some spots that looked powdery and white. It all rinsed off easily, but I am nervous that it was mold. If it was, is there a way to disinfect the filter, or would I be better off trying to buy a new one?

Buying a new one would not really be a solution because you could get the mold again. Try washing it with strong alcohol and baking soda because they could get the mold out.
