Name brand or Generic?!

Question: Name brand or Generic?
One of me favorite soft drinks is Dr. Pepper. It currently sells for $1.48 per 2 liter bottle at the local store. I just recently found a generic version of Dr. Pepper that was only 74 cents. I tried it and it tasted exactly the same, if not a little better.

Why is the name brand stuff so expensive when the generics offer the same quality for less price? Seems like they're screwing themselves over, in my opinion.

I agree. I like the Kroger version of Dr. Pepper better than the original!
However, there are some foods that I refuse to substitute for a generic brand; such as Miracle Whip.
But, yeah, when it comes to most foods, I shop at the discount stores like Save-A-Lot and ALDI. Most of the time you can not tell the difference in things like pasta, soups & things like that.
When you buy name brands, you are paying for advertising.
My grandma always said,
"Don't spend all of your money on expensive food because you're just going to poop it out the next day!"

Grandma!

With the brand name items you are paying for advertising, brand recognition and brand protection.
