if you don't trust it don't drink it. thats why a lot of these methods are effective, because there undetectable. my guess is that you may have someone suspicious serving you and your worried about it, in which case simply don't risk it.
Never leave a drink unattended. If you set it down somewhere at like a party, and come back to it, DON'T drink it! -Better for it to go to waste than for you to be doped up.
