I thhink there has to be some leeway, although by all means the threshhold should be low.

I don't think it could ever be zero. Imagine if you were over the limit due to the white wine in the sauce of a fish dish for example, or the brandy on the crepe suzette!

starting coursework the night before, classic. Both economy and society would be badly hurt by this. The catering business would suffer hugely if even a half of lager couldn't be enjoyed after a meal out. I could go on and on.

Edit: Just read some of the previous answers. People really are stupid, a zero drink drink limit would have a negative effect on everything.
Drink driving accidents are caused by drivers OVER the limit. If everyone stuck to the current limit, then there wouldn't be drink driving accidents. the limit is perfectly fine where it is, it's the people who drink drive now would do exactly the same if it was a zero limit. Reducing it to zero wouldn't solve it at all. If anything it'd make it worse.

if the limit was zero we would cut the death rates on the road, i believe there should be a zero limit and do not understand why people are aloud a certain amount of alcohol before getting behind the wheel, each person is affected differently with a drink, i personally feel the affects after just one and would NEVER drive with any alcohol in me. The amount of people killed on our roads every year is a shocking and disgraceful result of our tolerance towards drink drivers, even those drunks who kill by hitting someone get very little punishment. don't drink and drive, period.

A lot of pubs would go out of business, for sure. Alochol sales would probably go down, which means less tax money for the government.
One beer equals roughly .02, so you'd either have to not drive or you'd have to stay there for an hour+ while your body processes the alcohol.
Not to mention there'd be a lot more people clogging up the system, which costs tax payers money.
A limit of 0 would be a horrible idea!

I think we have it about right, it will not be a good day when you cannot have a glass of wine or a beer with a friend. There will always be someone who will go over the top and this will happen whether its doubled or nil. There will always be one, regretfully where ever you go.

It would surely make the road a safer place to drive.A lot of foreign countries will put you in prison for DUI.

Over seas travel

yes there is no need to drink if your driving and no need to drive if your gonna drink !

Hmmm.... it's effects will not be so good. so don't try this type of things.
