How to prepare coffee without a coffee maker?!

Question: How to prepare coffee without a coffee maker?
For a Christmas present I got some coffee from my friend. Though I love coffee, I don't own a coffee maker. I know that you can make coffee without it, but I don't exactly know how. It's powdered coffee, not the beans, in case you're wondering.

Please and thanks! :)

Answers:

There are inexpensive plastic coffee filters that you put on your coffee cup, add a filter and pour boiling water through.

Otherwise, make it like arabic coffee, boil water in a pan add coffee grounds and boil, remove from stove, let it stop boiling and repeat a few times.

I know there are at least 7 ways to brew coffee. But it depends on how you like it to taste. The only way that I know of to make coffee without a coffee maker or a French Press (or an espresso machine, percolator, etc) is Turkish. You boil the grounds and the water together, but you need to crush the coffee grounds into a powder - an extremely fine powder (like baby powder). You need to boil the water in a specially shaped pot. Add sugar if you want it. Boil it three times (boil, cool, boil, cool, boil). Once the grounds settle, pour small cups holding the foam back. It'll be thick and muddy, but it's very good.

But why don't you just go buy a cheap coffee pot. You can get them for like $15.

Do you mean that it is ground coffee? If so, you can just buy some large size coffee filters and put in a rounded tablespoon per cup, and tie it closed with a bit of string. Pour near-boiling water over the "coffee-bag" and steep for a few minutes.

is it instant coffee? put it in a mug and add some water.

boil water
