Why do people insist on having ice in their soft drinks?!

Question: Why do people insist on having ice in their soft drinks?
Answers:

The same reason as you put them in any drink, to make it cold.
If you mean why ice is always included at restaurants and fast food places, it's because the more ice they put the less soft drink and it is cheaper to put ice.

Culture and climate. Americans like ice in their drinks to cool them during warm/hot weather. Think ice-tea! Ice has been a luxury item for many people, hence, some use it to show off their economic status. Please know that some folks (Polish) think cold water is bad for their throats.
