Why are Coca-Cola company allowed to use coca leaf extract, while other drink companies aren't?!


Question: Why are Coca-Cola company allowed to use coca leaf extract, while other drink companies aren't?

if other companies want to go through the expensive and government monitored process of de-cocanizing coca leaves... i would guess they could.



It has to be inspected and certified that it contains no trace of cocaine before it can be used. There is also the question of safe disposal of the cocaine extracted.



Coca Cola is such a huge multinational corporation they must have owned the rights to it or own the company that produces it.



Cola could either own the company

or could it be some kinda patent :(



Not that the others aren't allowed, they just choose not to.
