Mixing Green Tea & Peppermint Tea is a bad idea.?!

Question: Mixing Green Tea & Peppermint Tea is a bad idea.?
I mixed the two and the mixture tastes awful. Does anyone else like this taste?

Answers:

This is my usual "just before bed" tea. I use Twinings Green Tea and then Bigalow peppermint tea, honey and a few cookies and it makes me feel good and then I drop off to sleep all relaxed.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't like it

When people mix green tea and mint tea, they typically use spearmint, not peppermint. Peppermint has a strong, perky aroma which doesn't blend well with most green teas. Also, some green teas work better than others. Moroccan mint tea, a favorite blend of mint and green tea, typically combines gunpowder green tea with mint.

I actually have a page on my tea site that talks specifically abound green tea and mint blends:

This may give you some ideas if you want to combine them.

I haven't tried that yet, but since you said it's bad I won't mix those ingredients you mentioned. I'm not a fan of tea but sometimes I do enjoy a tea or two in a week. My mother like to mix lemon and honey with it and I love the flavor. So I usually drink tea with honey and lemon.

I hate Lipton green tea, so when I tried the peppermint with the Lipton it was horrible, like you said. However, when i mixed TAZO green tea (zen) with mint from my garden my friends all wanted to steal my drink. Hope I helped!

Just the other day on the Food Network, a chef made green tea, peppermint and apple juice. Looked great.
