Why do biscuits float on coffee?!


Question: Why do biscuits float on coffee?
I would like to know a small background on the physics behind floatation and why does biscuits float on coffee.Sum it up in any way you can.

They only float until the liquid soaks into the biscuit and then the biscuit dissolves

The yeast or leavening agent which creates co2 forms pockets in the biscuit. Therefore the biscuit displaces more liquid in weight than the biscuit weighs. Just as a boat or ship.
