Question: What could cause water to turn to slush instead of ice?

The other day I placed a bottle of tap water in the freezer and instead of turning to ice it turned to a soft slush (like partially frozen soda) I've never seen this happen before what would cause this?

Answers:

it is because of impurities.

i must of only been partially frozen
