A tomato is a fruit (a berry to be precise). But ketchup is still a condiment. The same way a chutney is a condiment and not a full-on dessert. However, I do like your logic. It works in a Monty Python sort of way.
ketchup is usually mixed with other stuff & it's not really made how you would make a smoothie.. it's just ketchup, don't question it.
ketchup is a fruit sauce in reality. it's still a condiment much like relish, mustard, or tartar sauce.
