If tap water is safe to drink, how come people always drink bottled water and filtered water?!
Answers:
It's the taste...chlorination, for one and hardness of water and also amount of dissolved sulfur in water from wells, can be awful (stinky as a matter of fact, like rotten eggs). Filtered water has the hardness minerals removed and it has a "softer" taste on the tongue.
depends on where you live. places like Colorado and Oregon have good water, so more people drink tap water. other places don't have as good tasting water, so more people filter. filtering or bottled water doesn't mean the tap water is unsafe, they just don't want to drink it
It depends on where you live and what's in your pipes. If the water's "hard" then it's not too safe =/
Like my house, we drink filtered water but use tap water and sometimes drink it as well, last week we found out our pipes are made of lead because our house is over 100 years old, the Water Board refuses to believe it or even check it though because will cost so much to replace so we're having to install a filtering-tap.

Some believe it's more pure. Some people say the taste varies in different
types of bottled water and tap. Me personally, I'm fine with drinking tap
because I don't understand having tap and not drinking it. Just seems like
a huge waste to me. But people have different opinions.
tap water has a higher hp level of lead in it, same as the faucet water in a hose pipe, bottles water is just more purified n more convenient for travel, besides bottles watter has different tastes and flavored
I absolutely hate tap water with a burning passion...but that's just me...
But where I live (TX) the tap water doesn't taste that good, so we have this water jug machine thing instead...but it's all about your preferences, and what you think taste the best.
well because tap water is from the ocean and lakes and stuff like that and fish have sex in the water, would you want to drink water that fish have had sex in and have little baby fish.
Its a matter of preferance. I like ozarka water much better then Tap.
