Why won't my flowering tea bloom properly?!
I recently purchased some Teavana flowering tea to use in my glass teapot, since they make such a nice display. However, every single time I've made it (I've two different kinds) it doesn't seem to bloom properly. Usually when you have flowering tea the ball sinks to the bottom. These never, ever, EVER do. It also seems, sometimes, like they don't quite finish blooming all the way.
I have tried several different techniques and suggestions for brewing flowering teas but end result is still the same. Has anyone used this kind of blooming tea before? Since I've seen flowering teas made for me, but never actually done it myself, I'd really just like to know if it's me doing something wrong or if it's just this particular brand of tea.

Are you pouring the water over the tea? it could be that there are air bubbles in the dry tea and that's why it's not falling to the bottom and not unfurling properly.
You could try dunking it with a spoon a few times if it rises to the top, making suger to get out any of the bubles.
Some blooming teas work better than others though. I've never tried Teavana's blooming teas so I can't say anything about them in particular from experience.
