Is filtered water really safe?!

Question: Is filtered water really safe?
I get my drinking water from on of those "outdoor" machines that dispense water for cheap, like 25 cents a gallon. On the machine, it says something about using "reverse osmosis" to remove chemicals or whatever. I want to know if this "reverse osmosis" or whatever is really cleaning the water out. What about heavy metals? Are they filtered out?

Yes, filtered water is safe if you use the right filter for the specific contaminant problems in your water. If a filter is maintained as recommended by the manufacturer it will produce safe and healthy water. On the other hand, if a filter is not changed as often as recommended, the filtered water can be more dangerous than the original water. If a wrong filter is used, the contamination problem will remain and the filter will not performed to your satisfaction.

As for reverse osmosis systems, they are very effective to remove inorganic chemicals like chromium-6, fluoride, arsenic, excellent removal system for chlorine, and a lot more. Basically, it can filter smaller particles and/or particles that dissolved in water that you can not see but makes water taste or smell bad.

Reverse osmosis is safe. It filters everything out including fluoride. The only downside to RO is that it also filters out the healthy minerals found naturally in water.

There are better water filtration systems out there that can sit right on your countertop that filters everything out and even keeps the healthy minerals in.

Sure it is safe, but so is your tap water. In fact, most tap water is probably safer than bottled water. Tap water must undergo quality checks and tests many times a day, and bottled water doesn't have to get tested unless it crosses state lines. Most bottling companies are aware of this so they don't ship water out of state. Plus you are paying extra for something that is far cheaper coming out of the tap. You also need to think about those bottles, are they BPA free, if not then you may be doing damage to yourself and your children.

Amazing! It may help. http://obuyo.info/291056/reverse-osmosis
