are energy drinks really bad?!
i'm talkin about stuff like redbull and stuff
not gatorade or powerade
it says there's ginseng... green tea... etc
is that just pure marketing?
all the ppl i've seen drinking it were fat so...

thats just stupid. energy drinks give people energy. the fat people drink it for no reason
Drinks like Redbull are loaded with sugars to give you energy and caffeine to perk you up.
Make you fat? Well, it is the same as if you drank a lot of soft drinks. The sugars, which are basically carbohydrates (think bread, pastas, etc), give you energy. But if you do not use that energy, some of it will be converted into fats.
Too much caffeine is not too good either. I get headaches if I take too many shots of espresso. I guess the same would happen to someone drinking too much energy drinks at one go. Even worse, if you keep taking it excessively over a long period of time, it might do your body harm.
To tell the truth, I used to take Red bull when I was in the army. Just before a physical test or during a long route march. I do not remember taking more than 2 can at any one time. I really do not think it is a good ideal to drink more than that at one go. Neither would I think it advisable to drink such energy drinks "just for fun".
In short, energy drinks IMHO is not harmful unless taken excessively. No more so than coffee or soft drinks.
Of course the companies are going to push the "good" ingredients, but there a ton of other chemicals and stuff they put in there to actually give you that alert feeling. There is a butt load of sugar in many energy drinks that give you energy but also give you extra baggage if you're not careful. I suggest getting more sleep, eating healthier, and exercising if you really want more energy.
Energy drinks do not give off real energy by any means, Every drink that has sugar or a high Level of sodium is bad,Its just the caffeine and sugar and sodium. Its not healthy at all. You can get a heart attack from them. Very dangerous for your heart. I never had one, Im never planning on it either,Getting good energy is good sleep,Healthy eating, and exercising.
I can say that none of them are GOOD for you.
