Most of them do have a good amount of vitamin C, and at least you're hydrating yourself without the Caffeine or the Sodium. I'd say it's a lot more paletable than say, Water on it's lonesome when you have a cold. Just don't drink only Vitamin Water, and definitely eat good foods high in the Vitamins you need, and drink plenty of regular water.
The best water in my opinion, and this is through research and lots of trials, is smart water, the same makers of vitamin water. It is distilled with electrolytes. Drink it and it will hydrate you! The best water and I have recommend it to lotss of people and it has helped many of my friends with their migrane headache!

well it works as a prevention of getting a cold, like vitamin C etc, they are all good and they definitely don't have a side effect so you can drink it and you wont lose anything.

no you do not need sugar with a cold.
if not sick it has vitamins but if you eat a wide varity of colors of food you get vitamins without the sugar.
