Question: Drinking lactose-free milk if I'm not lactose-intolerant?
hello :) just wondering..
i've been drinking lactose-free milk for as long as i remember.. my mom is lactose intolerant so we always buy lactose-free milk. she has offered to buy regular milk for me but i hardly ever drink milk so i say no its ok. will drinking lactose-free milk affect me in any way if i'm not lactose intolerant? like will it affect development, bone health, etc?

It won't have negative effects on you. I am lactose intolerant, and my daughter is. My sons are not. Rather than buy 2 kinds of milk we all drank the same. It is milk. it is just missing the lactose. Lactose intolerance happens when the small intestine does not make enough of the enzyme lactase. Enzymes help the body absorb foods. Not having enough lactase is called lactase deficiency.



Lactose-free milk is harmless, and you can drink it if you want. Milk with normal lactose in it may have a few more calories and a slightly sweeter taste, but that's about it (unless you are lactose-intolerant, of course).



Yes, you can drink lactose free milk even though you're not lactose intolerant.



well if you don't drink milk much then no but regular milk is a lot higher in vitamins and way better for you
