Is cold kitchen tap water in the UK safe to drink?!

Question: Is cold kitchen tap water in the UK safe to drink?
My mom doesn't seem to think so, her argument being that whenever the cistern/pump for her old flat broke down, there would be no water supply to the kitchen taps. She also thinks it's not safe to drink because the water is probably treated with chlorine. Any way I can dispute this? I look up the matter online and not a single authority says cold kitchen tap water is unsafe to drink.

theres nothing wrong with it.
Im sure the authorities would only put enough chlorine into the water to Clease it of bacteria, not enough bleach your stomach. There is too little to harm you.
FluOride is also in water which Is found in almost all toothpastes so its good for your teeth too.
tapwater is completly safe to drink, government not that obsessed with saving money to repay debt that people die of drinking tapwater.

Just donT drink it if you know your water pipes are dodgy and dirt can get into then.
