Drink coffee or water instead

Ease off of soda at first by replacing it slowly with a juice that contains sugar. Keep in mind how bad for you caffeine is. You aren't having sugar anxiety attacks more than likely what you are having is caffeine withdrawal. It takes a long time to give up a soda addiction, and let's face it, if you drink more than one soda a day, you have an addiction. Try reaching for a bottle of water instead. Stop buying soda, and you will have to reach for something else to drink. That's how I gave up Coca Cola and caffeinated beverages a number of years ago.

Most of the Dr. Pepper today is made with high fructose corn syrup which is made from cheap genetically altered corn. High fructose corn syrup is found in a lot of sweet products. It makes people gain weight and denatures the cells in the body! So, keep that in mind when you crave a DP. Try to think of it as Poison. Diet sodas have ingredients that cause cancer and weight gain, and seizures. So, do not replace DP with any diet drinks. I would cleanse out the system as you would do with any poison. Once the system is cleansed, the cravings will go away. I use dandelion root tea to cleanse out all toxins. Like any craving, there will be with-drawls and anxiety at first. But it is worth it. Orange and grape juice are very good and sweet for a good replacement.

Herb books such as "Back to Eden" by Jethro Kloss. And I have fibromyalgia and I have to watch my sweet levels as sugar irritates fibro.

Well my dad doesn't drink caffeine but he he likes soda (not a lot though) But what he does is just get some of your favorite juice and mix it with seltzer water, he says you get the same carbonation bubbly effect that regular soda would have given you :D

Just don't buy soda. It's that simple. Literally. My parents never buy me soda and im used to drinking water. If not water for you, then maybe juice would be better than soda? It's healthier and get natural juice.

Whatever you drink now, cut it in half immediately. Do that for one week. Then cut THAT in half for another week. Then stop altogether.

Coffee or tea both can have cream and sugar added. Make your own cool aid.

Simply stop buying it.

You stop...by...erm...stopping.

It's all about your mind...
first you set up your mind....

Cut Down Slowly
You have not developed the habit in one day. Right? So, do not expect that you can quit it in one given day. On the first week, reduce intake of one soda every day. Suppose, if you take 6 sodas daily, make it 5. Next week, make it 4. Proceed this way and after 6 weeks, you must stop it completely. During this time, try to have diet soda.

Dilute the Soda with Water
While quitting soda, you will feel strong urge to have some soda quite often. To tackle this problem, take a small amount of diet soda in a glass and then put a few ice cubes to fill up the glass. Thus you will consume more water than soda. Continue to have it till the time you successfully quit the habit.

Replace it with a Substitute Drink
Every time you feel like having a soda, you should take a healthy drink to kill the craving. Think about a suitable drink that you like other than soda. You may try soy milk or skim milk or simply a glass of cold water to which some lemon juice has been added for flavor.

Have Green Tea
Since you are addicted to caffeine in the soda, when you cut it down, you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as headache quite often. Drink a cup of green tea every morning. This is an healthier option that can manage this symptom really well.

Lead a Healthy Lifestyle
Eat lots of food that help you lose weight like fresh fruits and vegetables. Such foods can control the cravings for sugary substances to a great extent. Moreover, do some exercises regularly in order to develop better control over your mind and body.
