Is Diet Soda healthier than regular soda?!


Question: Is Diet Soda healthier than regular soda?
I heard that Diet soda is worse for you? is this true?

Aspartame in diet sodas has been proven to cause cancer. In the 1930s, aspartame was banned, thus ending the production of diet drinks. However, diabetic unions petitioned to get aspartame back.

Basically, you need to decide which is worse. Either you drink something that could potentially lead to cancer (but nowadays, everything leads to cancer) or you drink something that has a lot of sugar (I believe it is 17 tablespoons per can) and calories. Or you don't drink soda.

Neither are overly great, as regular soda is basically empty calories and diet soda could lead to cancer.

Diet soda is better for you in as it contains no sugar and has less calories
Diet soda however is also not healthy for you when drank excessively as it leads to fluid retention and has an extremely high sodium content. It also contains aspartame (aspartame is 10% methanol which is a deadly poison). This is the same for regular soda.
Both are not healthy when drank excessively but having soda once in a while isn't bad for you. Don't let this scare you away from drinking soda. If soda was that bad for you it wouldn't have been cleared by the FDA.
Some theories say that diet soda is linked to pancreatic cancer but none of this is proven and most of the research studies were flawed or incorrect.

So in my opinion I would say that diet soda is healthier but only because it doesn't contain sugar



There was a recent study that diet soda can cause strokes especially in men in their early twenties to late thirties. From a diabetics perspective diet is better. So it all depends on point of view. Either way, less soda that is consumed, the better.



Yes! The arificial sugers and sweetners they put in it have been proven to cause many many problems, including heart disese, alzhimers, ect.

Won't touch aurtifical sugers/sweetners.



It is. "DIE t" is what many of my Doctor's have told me. No soda is good for you but diet soda or diet drinks in generally, are the worst.



NO no actually it can be more dangerous than just drinking the regular cola. Unless your diabetic that is!
