Does coffee lose it's flavor and caffeine-strength over time?!

Question: Does coffee lose it's flavor and caffeine-strength over time?
Say for example, I make 3-cups worth of coffee at 7am, and drink a cup. Then come back from school at 2pm. Would I have to dump out the 2-cups worth of coffee? Or is the strength of the caffeine and taste of it still the same?

i drink day old coffee all the time because I am too cheap to waste it.
The flavor actually can get stronger the longer it sits around and I have never noticed a decrease in caffeine.
How about you try it and see if you approve of the taste.
To me it doesn't make much difference, I am not a coffee snob and only drink it for the cheap caffeine and bury it in flavored creamer anyway.
