Is it good to live without soda for a year?!

Question: Is it good to live without soda for a year?
I'm in cross country and you're not suppose to drink a lot of soda. So my new year resolution is to live without soda for a year. But I want to make sure it's okay, cause after this year I'm going to start drinking soda again, but would that be unhealthy? Also I had a heart transplant and i need to drink water (this is also the reason I'm living without soda for now)

Answers:

No, that wouldn't do anything bad to your health. The carbonation overall has no health benefits and most regular soda are just extra sugar and unhealthy calories. Try drinking more water. It'll help with digestion and it can speed up your metabolism. When I went on a diet I cut all sodas out of my life and stuck with water only. Nowadays, when I drink soda it leaves a weird feeling in my stomach because my stomach isn't used to the carbonation anymore. Now when I drink soda I think it has a weird taste to it, so I don't even drink it anymore. Taking a break from soda for a year would probably help your stomach with digestion over time. If you try drinking soda after a year, you may feel some discomfort, but it doesn't mean that you'll never be able to drink soda again. You'll just have to start drinking it again in small doses to get your stomach used to it again. So after awhile, you should be fine.

Why would you want to start drinking soda again? It's one of the worst things you can put in your body (besides strychnine and cyanide). It's bad for your bones, it's bad for your blood, it's bad for your sleep, and it's bad for your mood.

I used to be addicted to soda. I drink it about 5 times a year, because if I tried to go off it completely I'd crave it more. But I would never go back to drinking it regularly, since it made me feel awful all the time.

Water's great! I drink a lot of it.

that's my new year's resolution too, I ahrdly drink soda now, and if I do return drinkign soda, I do't finish the tiny size cans. It's a good thing to give up soda, water is cheaper & healthier. If you go out to eat, pick water, its free of charge.
Keep drinking water, everything in your body needs water, not soda, overtime drinking too much soda causes addiction, dehydration, your money goes to waste, and loss in bone mass.

Soda is sweet sugary poison. It would be good to live without it for the rest of your life. It makes you fat, dissolves your bones, damages your kidneys, coats your digestive tract in sticky gunk, gives you diabetes, etc. It's just about the worst possible thing you can put in your body.

It's one of the best things you can do for your health. I bet you'll find that after a year, soda won't even taste good any more.

Gave up soda; don't miss it at all.

I beilive it is because soda has a lot of caffine in it and water is better for you

Good for the body, but horrible for the mind!!!
