Who discovered coffee?!
Answers:
Coffee was first consumed by the Ethiopians in the 9th century (800 AD). Legend has it that a shepherd named Kaldi was tending his goats up on the mountains somewhere in Ethiopia. It was a hot day and he was taking a rest. Then he looked up and couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw his goats dancing. Walking over to where they were dancing, he discovered that they had been eating a red fruit (coffee beans). Wondering whether that had caused the goats strange behaviour he consumed some of the ‘fruit’ himself. Sometime later, a local imam (Islamic leader) came along and thought he must be dreaming when he saw Kaldi dancing with his goats! He asked Kaldi what was going on. Kaldi claimed that the ‘red fruit’ had caused him and his goats to start dancing. Trying some for himself, the imam found that this was no regular fruit. The imam then shared the coffee beans with others and its popularity in Ethiopia grew very quickly! That legend is called ‘the legend of the dancing goats’. Whether it is true of not is debated, but it is clear that coffee was consumed by the Ethiopians in the 9th century. So now you know who discovered coffee.....

Kaldi, the legendary Ethiopian goat-herder!
The story goes that Kaldi noticed his herd dancing from one coffee shrub to another, grazing on the cherry-red berries containing the beans. He copped a few himself and was soon frolicking with his flock. Witnessing Kaldi’s goatly gambol, a monk plucked berries for his brothers. That night they were uncannily alert to divine inspiration. History tells us other Africans of the same era fueled up on
protein-rich coffee-and-animal-fat balls—primitive PowerBars—and unwound with wine made from coffee-berry pulp. Coffee later crossed the Red Sea to Arabia, where things really took off!
Coffee was discovered by Ethiopian farmers who found that when their goats ate coffee beans, they became hyperactive.
