Can you safely increase the alcohol content of Kombucha tea by leaving it out in a sealed container?!

Question: Can you safely increase the alcohol content of Kombucha tea by leaving it out in a sealed container?
Does it need to be refrigerated to do so?
And if I do this, would I need to boil it afterward to make sure it isn't pathological (pathological being an overstatement, of course).

Thanks

Hi... You never have to boil Kampuchea... that would kill all the pro biotic bacteria... kombucha has it's own preservative properties and doesn't spoil, it doesn't need to be refrigerated... It does; however, become more and more acidic, maybe to the point where you might not like it... the alcohol content does go up but it is not significant... the amount of alcohol in pleasant tasting kombucha... (not to acidic) is little more than the alcohol content of an orange.... ain't so bad
