Would soda/pop go flat eventually even if you never opened it?!

Yes. The carbonation would leak out slowly over time to the point where the soda would taste like syrup once you open it fully. My grandfather had some old coke bottles in his garage and when he passed away, we opened one of them and there was no fizz to it. So, yes, it does go flat eventually.

I would think that it would depend upon the container.
I know that the plastic 2 liter bottles will go flat over time.
Recently my step mother tried to give her daughter an un opened bottle of Tab, minimum 15 years old. The sides of the bottle were slightly collapsed toward the center. Flat? you bet'cha.
