If you don't normally suffer from constipation, then go see your doctor. Otherwise, start eating healthy meals - lack of food can make you constipated. Buy some linseed's at the health shop and add these to your meals (they don't taste of anything, but give a lovely, nutty texture), and are great for constipation. Drink at least 2 pints of water a day.
Refined foods can make you constipated, so bring on the wholewheat pasta, brown rice, potatoes, fresh veg and fresh fruit. Try to eat at least one (homemade) salad a day.
Sugar is one of the worst culprits for causing constipation in the western diet. So look at your whole diet, because sugar hides everywhere - did you know there is even sugar in bought bread?
Whole fruits are better for you than juice, so try eating prunes rather than prune juice, although the juice won't do you any harm, but you don't want to constantly be feeling bloated with liquid exploding out of you!
See if you can find someone in your area who does colonic irrigation. This cleans out the bowels and gets rid of all that stored poo. It is only a temporary solution, and you need to sort your diet and liquid intake out.
Also, exercise helps eliminate constipation.
So eat healthily, drink loads of water, either cold or boiled (you can add a slice of lemon or lime), and get some exercise.

If you have been constipated for two weeks you should call your doctor.

Drinking prune juice shouldn't cause you any health problems so go ahead and drink it. I wonder if you are getting enough real food in your diet, or what else you are eating that might be causing your problems. Why not try eating fresh fruit instead? It's much healthier than anything you can get in a jar.
