coffee is a plant based drink. the coffee beans come from the seed of a cherry tree. In my opinion, coffee does have some nutrients, but a lot of people drink too much of it or they add unhealthy things to it like cream and sugar which makes it very unhealthy. in my opinion, coffee is a nice drink on occasion for the nutrients and if drank plain.
There are a lot of benefits of drinking coffee: 1) It's the number one source of antioxidants in America 2) speeds up your metabolism 3) enhances athletic performance by increasing energy 4) reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes by 30% in women and nearly 50% in men 5) helps fight certain types of cancer, especially colon cancer 6) helps prevent Parkinson's disease. Some benefits that are not just health benefits is that the coffee smells good and it helps to wake you up in the morning, it's not fattening if you drink it black and even if you drink it with a little milk and sugar, it's still a lot less fattening than soda.

the only way you could see coffee as a benefit was if you were really tired and wanted to stay awake it sometimes helps. Even though they say an apple is more effective than a coffee at keeping you awake!
so... sorry to break it to ya. coffee has no nutritional value whatsoever.
It speeds up your metabolism, gives you energy, and helps to keep from munching. As previously said, it is addictive, but so is chocolate, according to some people, so everything is fine in moderation.
