Studies don't directly link kidney stones to sodas, but they show that people who drink lots of sodas are usually more dehydrated and that contributes to kidney stones. A study published in the Journal of Urology a few months back shows that diet sodas can actually reduce the recurrence of kidney stone, in moderation, but you should still drink plenty of water (never count sodas as your daily dose of water).

Kidney stones are caused from excess calcium building up, and has nothing to do with salt or artifical sugars in pop.

i wouldn't be surprised. i'd say no, but you never know with artificial sweetners and those other chemicals in diet soda.
