Many, people are lactose intolerant and as you get older it can become worse.
Some ethnic groups are 100% lactose intolerant.
IE, American Indians( Native Americans) and 98% of many Asian groups.
Here's a list( quite interesting)
and yes, there is a pill you can buy over the counter.
Scroll down and look at these percentages as far as ethnic groups.
Hard to believe that some are so high.

Eat goats milk cheeses( delicious). You'll eventually get to love them.
You can sub goats milk for you tea, coffee etc etc.
Try the pill out and see how that works for you.
Lot's of options, so don't despair-:).
There's so many more I didn't list.
Rice milk, soy milk, almond milk( the bomb, love almond milk) and others.

two options
1 get off the birth control pill and see if it make a difference if you need the pill and would rather get rid of the milk
2. get rid of the milk you will probally not be able to get back on the milk but if you wish and it is still avabile try acidophlis milk it use to help people with milk problems but it would be best to give up the milk and find a new taste friend.
unless active birthcontrol pills are more harmful for health than the milk when you are allergic.
there are many bad side effects to the pill you will not know about until they happen.

When my son was a baby, he was intolerant. As a result, I couldn't eat or drink dairy. I love milk and cereal in the morning. I used pasteurized goat milk, available at some grocery stores. It tastes a little different but does alright in a pinch. I personally hate the taste of soy and rice milk so this was my choice. There is also a beverage called Lactaid which is lactose free milk. I don't know how they get the lactose out, but that's what it says. There are also pills that you can take before you drink/ eat dairy that will help you digest it better but I don't remember what they're called. Check at a pharmacy or health food store.
Good luck. I hope this helps.

Definitely talk to your doctor because a change that big so fast could mean something is wrong. I noticed over a few years that what was making me feel queasy was when I had milk and so I thought I was lactose intolerant and after talking with my doctor they think so too. I can usually have some dairy if I have already eaten some other foods but it sounds like yours is more serious.

To answer your question specifically, there are OTC pills like Lactaid.

you could take over the counter Lactase pills or ask your doctor.
If you take the Lactase pills you should be able to eat most dairy foods, just not whole Milk.

you could probably try drinking non-fat milk because it is the fat in milk that contains lactose not the liquid

rice milk has a ok taste unlike soy milkXP and its called rice dream:)
